This checking lead was manufactured for Wahl Eversharp's checking pencils, with the lot tags inside the cases dating between late 1946 and 1950.  It didn't break our hearts at all that the black leads were manufactured in grade 2B, our most popular grade ("Existential" in our standard leads).

Six 1 3/8" leads to a tube.  Made in USA.
